Five Things You Should Know About Tree Removal

Posted on: 10 November 2015

As a homeowner with trees on your property, you must know when it is important to hire professionals for tree removal. Tree removal is important to ensuring that property is kept safe, as well as anyone who is near any tree that has the potential of falling easily. Here are five things that you should know about tree removal:

  1. No Tree is Safe: Even if you take care of your tree as best you can, it can be difficult to prevent disease that has spread from other trees in the area and more. This means that even if you think your tree will never need to be removed, you will still want to check the trees on your property often to check for signs of removal. The best way to ensure that your trees are inspected thoroughly is to hire professional tree arborists on a regular basis to perform inspections.
  2. Tree Removal is Dangerous: If you know that tree removal is needed for any trees on your property, you should never attempt to remove a tree on your own. Without the right tools and equipment, not only can tree removal take much longer to complete, but it can be dangerous for yourself and others around you. Professionals know how to safely remove trees to ensure that the process does not cause damage to your property or a neighbor's.
  3. A Dead Tree is a Fire Hazard: Any dead trees on your property needs to be removed right away. This is because dead trees are a huge fire hazard. If a fire were to start, a dead tree would go up in flames quickly allowing the fire to spread quickly to your home and other property around you. This means that there is less tie to call the fire department and have a fire stopped before it gets out of control.
  4. The Wood is Usually Recycled: The upside to having a tree removed from your property is that the wood is usually recycled. This means that you aren't just removing a tree that is potentially dangerous and watching it go to waste. Trees can be recycled to use as mulch or even hardwood flooring, cabinets, and more.
  5. You can Plant Something New: When you realize that a tree needs to be removed on your property, you may be slightly upset about it. If you liked having a tree in that location, then just be aware that you can plant a new tree in that same area to fill it up once again.

By knowing these things about tree removal, you can be sure that you are more comfortable with the process. For more information, contact companies like Robert Jefferies Logging & Tree Service.

Keeping Your Trees Healthy

About a year ago, I realized that our front trees were starting to look a little funny. Some of the leaves were wilted, but we weren't anywhere near autumn. The bark on the trunk also seemed to be rotting away, which was frustrating and disappointing. Fortunately, a friend of mine told me to call a professional arborist for help. He came out, inspected the trees, and injected some special pesticides into the trunk. Within a few months, they started to look a lot better. Our arborist also trimmed our trees to reduce the weight load on the branches and to improve their shape. Check out this blog for information about tree trimming.
