3 Reasons Why Tree Removal Professionals Are A Must

Posted on: 27 September 2018

Are you tired of a tree in your yard? Have you been making plans to cut it down and get rid of it? While getting rid of an unwanted tree may seem like a simple matter, the truth is that it can be deceptively complicated. Instead of handling it yourself, you should hire someone to cut it down for you. For a variety of reasons, getting rid of an unwanted tree is something that is best left to the professionals. Some of the best reasons for this include:

Safety: Wood tends to be denser and heavier than it looks. A lot of this weight is from the water content. A 2x4 at the hardware store may be relatively lightweight, but this because the wood has been allowed to dry and has lost a portion of its original weight. When you're cutting up a fresh tree, the extra weight can result in you losing control of the piece that's being removed, potentially resulting in damage or injury. But tree removal services professionals will know how to compensate for this weight difference and how to get rid of the tree with the least risk of damage or injury.

Equipment: Tree removal services will usually have access to more equipment than you can get on your own. Even if you are able to rent a cherry picker or other similar heavy equipment, you're probably not going to be saving any money by doing so. In fact, there's a good chance that you'll wind up paying more for a single rental than you would if you had simply paid for a professional tree removal in the first place. If you are unable to get access to the same safety equipment in the first place, you'd be putting yourself in even more danger so you might as well go with the professionals.

Time: If you've never had to do it before, cutting down a tree is something that can take a long time due to an insufficient skillset. While you may be able to get faster as you learn while you go, you'll still take more time than it would have taken for professional tree removal services to do the job. Since they handle this sort of thing every day, they already know the fastest and most efficient way to cut down a tree and to cut it up into pieces so that it can be hauled away.

Keeping Your Trees Healthy

About a year ago, I realized that our front trees were starting to look a little funny. Some of the leaves were wilted, but we weren't anywhere near autumn. The bark on the trunk also seemed to be rotting away, which was frustrating and disappointing. Fortunately, a friend of mine told me to call a professional arborist for help. He came out, inspected the trees, and injected some special pesticides into the trunk. Within a few months, they started to look a lot better. Our arborist also trimmed our trees to reduce the weight load on the branches and to improve their shape. Check out this blog for information about tree trimming.
